An Emergency Response Chaplain is a minister, deacon, elder, Sunday school
teacher, or anyone else called of God to minister to
Police/EMS/Firefighters/Corrections, in agencies of Local, State, and
Federal Government. As an Emergency Response Intervention Chaplain you have
a mission to serve the members of the Police/Fire/EMS Departments and their
families and the members of their communities at large.
As Chaplains you are tasked with providing
spiritual guidance, counseling, and comfort in times of emotional crisis.
You will serve as a spiritual bridge between the Emergency Response Workers
and the Community in sensitive Community Relations Issues. Being a Chaplain
in this capacity can be very demanding, challenging, and very stressful due
to the line of work the Emergency Workers face every day, but it is also
very rewarding because you are doing so unto our Lord.
The leadership of UACCCI recognized
the need for ministry to the Emergency Response Workers, and giving them
the needed support to help them be the very best responders for their line
of work. We as the Faith-Based Community understand that many Emergency
Responders deal with a lot of incidents, crisis', and traumatizing
situations in which they sometimes need to be ministered, and counseled
to. Most Chaplains and Ministry workers mostly deal with victims of
violent, tragic incidents, and sometimes we do not know how to relate or
counsel the ones who handle the emergency, or the first responder who may
have initially witnessed the event firsthand.
The Emergency Response Chaplain training
offered by UACCCI is designed to teach members of the body of Christ the
proper reporting procedures, places to find resources, counseling, etc.,
and to provide the federal, state, and local Police/Fire/EMS departments a
team player who is concerned, and understands what they deal with on a
daily basis, along with ministering specifically to their needs.
You as an Emergency Response Chaplain may be
called upon at any given time to minister in any serious or
life-threatening situation. You may be called upon to hold the hand of a
dying Police, and/or Fireman, and in a moment provide comfort and support
for their fellow officers, and/or love ones. You could be asked by
Department Officials to notify a next of kin about a fellow officer dying
in the line of duty. You could be asked "why did God do this?" or "what
sense does this make?" Whatever the call is you as an Emergency Response
Chaplain are there to fill the gap and direct people to the Love of God,
to share with people that God does care and He is right there with them.
We are to be a beacon directing people to the hope only found in God.
Currently we are in need of individuals who desire to answer the call to
minister in this area. If you are interested in becoming an Emergency
Response Chaplain, and/or taking this training please send an email with
your name and the best contact information to
chaplainwaters@uaccci.org.
God bless you all and please keep praying for this wonderful work.
